Falling Into the Mountain

We're going here.

No, not the top!

But in the arms, in the lakes, in the forests, in the magic of this great mountain.

Walking along her shoulders, drinking from her springs, losing ourselves in her shadows,

disappearing to reappear -

new again.

R and R - that's what we need.

What is R and R?

Rest

Renewal

Relaxation

Rejuvenation

Recreation

What is recreation?

Is that like Parks and Recreation?

Uh... sort of.

Let's take these words apart.

Rest.

Hard to take that one apart.

It sits. Like a stone. The stop between beats of sound.

Rest.

Stop.

Renewal.

Re: Again

New: Just born

Renewal: Born again

Relaxation

Re: Again

Lax: Open. Loose.

Relaxation: Open again.

Rejuvenation.

Spanish speakers?

Re: Again

Juven: Young

Rejuvenation: Young again.

Recreation

Re: Again

Create: Make. Grow.

Recreation: Grow again.

Rest

Renewal

Relaxation

Rejuvenation

Recreation

Stop

Born Again

Open Again

Young Again

Grow Again

Sometimes

We need to stop.

Sometimes

We need to fall apart

to stop fixing things

to stop working to learn it, do it, be it, know it

and instead

fall back into the open mouth

of ignorance where we don't know the answers to anything

even the question of our name.

It's nice to not have the answers all the time.

Here's a little secret:

Much of the time, we don't have the answers.

Which is good -

Because we're not really here for the answers.

We're here for the questions.

I'll falling into some, quite happily, for all of a week, recreating myself, up on the Mountain.

My daughter and I and a friend and her daughters are meeting up there Sunday,

circling up for some much needed R and R.

Until my return, enjoy your English.

And check out Kiva.
